A Thai woman in Sattahip plunged her car into the sea at Bang Saray Beach early this morning. She claimed that she was startled after her car struck a footpath and subsequently tried to reverse her car but accidentally hit the accelerator instead.
The Sawang Rojanathammasathan Sattahip Rescue Unit responded to a car accident at a seawall at Bang Saray Beach in the Bang Saray sub-district, Sattahip district, Chonburi province, in the small hours of today, December 8th.
Upon arrival, rescue personnel discovered a severely damaged bronze Toyota Vios sedan that had plunged from a 3-meter-high seawall into the ocean. The car was partially submerged and located about 5 meters from the wall. The front and rear portions of the vehicle had become detached and were found on the shore.
Fortunately, due to the low tide, the car did not fully submerge. The driver, Ms. Beer (full name withheld upon request), a 28-year-old employee of a finance company, sustained minor injuries from the impact and received initial first aid at the scene. She was sent to a nearby hospital by a Good Samaritan before rescue workers arrived.
The recovery process of the car took over an hour. According to eyewitness accounts, Ms. Beer claimed to them that she was trying to park her car at the parking lot at the beach. In the process, her car accidentally hit the footpath. Ms. Beer then attempted to reverse the vehicle but mistakenly pressed the accelerator, causing the car to propel over the edge of the seawall and into the sea.
