Over 90 day overstay, blacklisted for 1 year…..does this effectively ban me from other countries too?

I had the one year ED visa. I was going to school for the first 3 months. After 3 months, I decided I was going to stop attending school. I went to immigration without the school’s knowledge and asked for the 90 day extension. I received the slip of paper for the 90 day extension so thought I was good for another 90 days. 90 days later, I went to immigration to do the next 90 day extension again. At this time I found out that the “90 day extension” I had received was not an extension but a “notification of address”. So according to my passport, I have overstayed more than 90 days now. I must leave the country, pay the 20,000 fine and not return for 1 year.

I completely agree with this situation. The rules are clear and I chose to break the rules. I’m not making this post to complain about the Thai system at all. I’m just figuring out what to do now.

Is it reasonable of me to assume that other countries will not grant me a “tourist visa on arrival” now so readily? Will my passport even show an overstay stamp? If so, would it help me in that regard to get a new passport? I plan to travel for 1 year (whilst blacklisted) and then return to Thailand on a tourist visa, marry my Thai girlfriend and get the marriage visa.

TL;DR- Does anyone have any experience with travelling whilst blacklisted/having an overstay stamp in their passport?
