Police have arrested 12 people for allegedly running illegal online casinos in Bangkok and Rayong.
In Bangkok, a crackdown was conducted on Sunday by the Patrol and Special Operation Division, or 191 Police, at a rented house in Soi Lat Phrao 107 of Bang Kapi district.
Police confiscated eight computers, a money counting machine, 95 passbooks, 19 mobile phones and 6.2 million baht in cash.
A court issued a search warrant after police were tipped off about an illegal online gambling operation on Saturday.
Police then searched the house and arrested a man, identified only as Mr Ae, and two women identified as Ms Nee and Ms Cee. All three are accused of managing an online gambling system.
Mr Ae reportedly admitted that he and the two women were the administrators of about two dozen gambling-related websites.
