One Person Dead, 15 Injured After Passenger Van Crashes in Surin

Surin, Northeast –

One person has been pronounced dead while 15 others have been injured after a passenger minivan crashed in the Sang Kha district.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident on Sunday (October 22nd) on No. 24 Road (Chokchai – Det-U-Dom Road) in Baan Santisuk, Phra Kaew sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find an overturned minivan on the roadside. The minivan driver, Mr. Siam Poomdee, 26, who had sustained moderate injuries told local media, “I was heading from Bangkok to Sisaket with 15 passengers. I “might” have fallen asleep at the wheel.”

Four people sustained severe injuries and 11 others sustained minor injuries. Mrs. Nanthida Saenpang, 47, from Sisaket, was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action.
