I’ve been offered a new job starting in 14 days, but my current contract requires a 30-day notice for termination. I’m not satisfied with my current role, and there are even illegal statements in my contract like the prohibition of overtime pay, which is illegal in Thailand so I feel like my contract won’t hold up legally anyway.
I also believe that they will find some sort of reason to deduct money from my final wage, and not just a little bit, I mean most of it. Another reason I don’t want to give a 30-day notice because I’ll end up working for them for free.
My current plan is to first get my new contract signed and finalised. Once that’s sorted, I’ll inform my current employer that I’ll be leaving in 7 days due to personal reasons.
Do you think this will be okay? Or do you think I will face repercussions?
