I’ve been in Phuket for three days and safe to say it’s really not what I was expecting and I feel ready to leave. I’ve been staying near Kata beach but headed to old town today for the rest of the week. Recommendations for hiking, traditional music and arts, and non-tourist areas?
Kata beach just put a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like I was in Florida with cringe sunburnt white people with no consideration for others. Everything is super overpriced (I got charged 240B for a small load of laundry, and 400B for a fruit, toast, and coffee). The food options are limited and so western. I wish I stayed in Bangkok!
Grateful to be by the ocean though, and hoping to make the most of the rest of my week here. Please help!!
