No tax filing delay in works

There is currently no plan to extend the deadline for the filing of personal tax income this year, said the Revenue Department.

Ekniti Nitithanprapas, director-general of the department, on Thursday said the agency has not received instructions from Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith regarding any deadline extension.

Last year, the filing deadline was pushed from the end of March to the end of August to help ease the financial burden of many households affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

However, no similar extension is forthcoming this time despite a recent rise in Covid-19 cases.

Mr Ekniti said the department believed the virus will be contained in two to three months.
