Situation is ALL current IDs are stuck at the embassy. I have an expired Thai DL though, it always works at banks etc. But I don’t want to risk hoping to take a domestic flight with it as I’ve heard they do check if expired or not. So that crosses of Koh Lipe and Samui I think (I’m in Pattaya).

* What other options are there? I want to keep van/train trips to 4 hours ideally. I’m happy to stop and stay in intermediate destinations though. Eg 2 hours to BKK, stay there 1 day, 3 hours to …
* Total trip should not exceed 1 week
* I’ve been to: Udon Thani, Chiang Mai, Koh Samet, Pattaya, Phuket, Bangkok
* I seem to prefer island destinations. But am open to other options too. I was considering Rayong or Hua Hin too
