New Covid cases exceed 10,000 for third day

The country registered 12 more Covid-19 fatalities and 10,470 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Monday morning.

This compared with the 20 coronavirus-related fatalities and 10,879 new cases reported on Sunday morning.

Sumanee Wacharasin, hazard communication director of the Department of Disease Control, said in the afternoon briefing that the 12 new fatalities were between the ages of 38 and 88.

All the fatalities were elderly people with underlying diseases and 75% of them were either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, she said.
