Neighbourhoods in (West) Bangkok

Hey guys! First time posting but have been reading a lot of the feed here and already gained so much useful info – thank you all.

I’m moving to Bangkok with my partner in June 24’. I will be studying at Mahidol University, however the campus is reallyyyyy far out (not even technically within the boundaries of Bangkok tbh).

Would you guys have any recommendations for good neighbourhoods in west Bangkok? I’ve accepted that I’ll be commuting to uni, because I don’t want myself and partner to miss out on Bangkok life just because of my study commitments.

We’re both heavily into the electronic music scene and want to see as much of the nightlife in Bangkok as possible. It seems like all the fun is in the east though 😭😭 any help or pointers would be much appreciated. Thank you!
