National Police Chief Orders Chonburi Police to Crack Down on Foreign Criminals

The Thai national police chief ordered police officers in Chonburi to crack down on foreign criminals following the abduction and dismemberment of German real estate broker Hans Peter Mack.

The order requested that all officers put their best efforts into capturing criminals and intercepting illegal activities, with a focus on foreigners.

This crackdown came after the successful capturing of all suspects involved in the murder of Hans Peter Mack. The suspects in this case were two Germans and one Pakistani-Thai.

According to the report, the operation must be done within three months, with a focus on eradicating illegal firearms and other types of weapons.

The Chonburi police are also urged to launch raids on a regular basis as well as set up checkpoints to prevent criminal activities in Chonburi province.

Chonburi police are also reportedly going to also investigate foreign motorcycle clubs that may be involved in transnational crime in and around Pattaya, with a focus on investigating members. The suspects in the murder of Mr. Mack had ties to one such club, say police, but stopped short of claiming the club or other members were possibly involved in the murder.
