Naming a half Thai child

Context: European father/thai mother so would have a European surname.

Due to above I would like child to have a Thai first name to retain some Thai identity especially as child will be at the very least born in Thailand, likely grow up here.

Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar position and what they have done with names.

I have one American friend in bangkok who has given his children with his Thai wife western names. His reasoning (and he says this half jokingly/serious) due to recessive euro genes children look mainly Thai so his wife has agreed to let them all have white first names. I’m not sure I want to go down this path but he’s the only reference I have atm lol.
