Myanmar voices thanks for aid to victims

Myanmar yesterday expressed appreciation for the assistance and compensation money given by the Thai government to the families of Myanmar nationals who perished in the railway crossing accident on Oct 11.

Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin said Myo Myint Naing, labour attache at the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok, was thankful for donations made by the ministry and relevant agencies to the victims’ families.

Nineteen people were killed and 44 others injured when a bus collided with a freight train at a railway crossing in Chachoengsao on Sunday. Six Myanmar workers were killed in the accident during a merit-making trip.
