My social security number is my tax ID?

Hi I have been working in Thailand for a year and a half now but gonna move back to my country soon. I would like to claim unemployment once since I have been paying tax and SSF of 750 baht every month.

The problem is, I don’t know my social security number. I remember I have filled in the registration on my first day at work, phone numvber, email, choosing hospital and stuff. I got my tax ID after that and just now, one of my coworker (also an expat) told me I don’t need a physical social security card (which my GF has one) and also told me I can use my tax ID to login to https://www.sso.go.th/wpr/main/login online but it doesn’t work (I don’t have the password so I used forgot password).

I am pretty confused right now, has anybody encoutered the same problem before? I am also waiting for a response from HR but since I have seen a few contentful post here about SSN while googling so I figured I should ask.

UPDATE:

Alright, apparently HR had already gave me the social security card last year and somehow I lost all memory about it even though I thought of mysrlf as a pretty careful person (I kept all important docs at one place). HR kept a PDF file which contained my social security number tho but not sure if knowing the number will worth anything as to claim the benefits, I need to provide a copy of the card.

For anyone who wants to know about the claiming process, goes to here

Download the first document (all in Thai), it gives you instructions of what to prepare. It especially mentions conditions for foreigners as well so both Thai and foreigners are eligible.

I will try to claim the benefits next week without the social security card, it’s slim chance but still worth a try.
