My first day in Bangkok, my first scam :D

Yesterday it was my first day in Bangkok, and only a few hours in I got to experience one of the most famous scams! I was walking to the Grand Palace entrance from Wat Pho (both were so impressive, Wat Arun was too!) After having my first Pad Thai. We were walking around the Palace when a man approached us near a door of the Palace (not an entrance) and started speaking to us. He was extremely nice, even gave us a map and pointed some landmarks. Told us that palace was closed for tourists and it was a ceremony only for Thai people. He told us to take a tuktuk to another landmark, but he didn’t even take us to the tuktuk, (they were across the road tho, in front of us). Of course we still went to the entrance and surprise, it was all lies and we got to enjoy the Grand Palace.

I’m not even mad! He tried and we knew it was a scam, so all good 😂 I can see how he could have ruined someone else’s day, tho. Looking forward to the next scam! Now on my way to have noodle for breakfast at Rung Rueang Pork Noodle. Cheers!
