Aziz Phitakkumpol, spiritual leader for Thailand’s Muslims, died at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital yesterday morning, aged 76.
He died the day after his younger brother was stabbed to death.
The Sheikul Islam Office announced that Aziz, the 18th Chularajmontri (Muslim spiritual leader) of Thailand, died at 10.32am. He had been hospitalised for a long period.
