Music scene recommendations for a solo female travelling to Phuket for 3 months?

Hi there! I’m travelling to Phuket between 18th September to 18th December (taking a break in the middle and heading elsewhere in between). The first month I’m planning to stay walking distance from Kata beach and am still planning where to stay Nov-Dec.

I’m a new DJ and it would be cool to see if I can get a gig while I’m there. My main agenda is to relax, walk a lot, learn some surfing, find underexplored places and ofc gorge on amazing Thai food. I’m a huge music lover so if there are any jazz/hip hop/techno/rave type recommendations please let me know. I like to party but not where there’s 500 people in one club. I like a more intimate or underground scene that’s safe. I don’t have an international license so probably won’t be driving and taking grabs everywhere – open to travelling a bit farther from Kata.

What I’m looking for:
– Recommendations for things to do in and around Kata
– Any bars/clubs or hidden gems that wont be crowded
– Where should I stay after Kata? Both in Phuket and travelling to islands. I found Phi Phi and Ko Yao Yao/Noi ideal.
– Any other recommendations or tips for safety since I’m travelling solo.

Thank you!
