Muang Thong snap up Ekanit

Thailand forward Ekanit Panya has joined Muang Thong United from fellow Thai League 1 side Chiang Rai United.

The 22-year-old, who signed a four-year contract with Muang Thong, was unveiled by the Kirins yesterday.

He is the club’s first signing in this transfer window ahead of the new season which begins next month.

“Book [Ekanit] chose us although a number of top clubs wanted to sign him,” said Muang Thong director Ronnarit Suewaja.

He said Muang Thong coach Mario Gjurovski is a big fan of Ekanit, who plays for both the senior and U23 national sides.

“We have the same target of taking Muang Thong to success,” Ronnarit said.
