Muang Thong United picked up their first Thai League 1 victory of the season last night when they defeated Sukhothai 2-0 at home.
After misses from Weerathep Pomphan and Sardor Mirzaev, the Kirins were finally put ahead in the 50th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Paringya Autapao committed a handball inside the box. Veteran Thailand striker Adisak Kraisorn made no mistake from the spot.
Former champions Muang Thong got their second goal in the 73rd minute when Mirzaev’s corner kick was headed into the net by Jesper Nyholm.
Meanwhile, in-form Danilo Alves bagged a brace to give Chonburi their third triumph of the season last night.
