Mount Pleasant offers many choices for it’s nearly 100,000 residents and many visitors | My Charleston

Once a small fishing village along the way to Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant’s suburban growth has made it the fourth-largest town or city in South Carolina.

To serve the town’s 95,000 or so residents and many visitors there are parks and piers, brew pubs and restaurants, historic sites, festivals and countless places to shop.

The centerpieces of the original town, the Old Village that was laid out in 1803 and restaurant-lined Shem Creek where shrimp trawlers still operate, offer plenty to see and do. But Mount Pleasant extends from Charleston Harbor to the Awendaw town boundary and there’s much to see and do in between.
