Most people worried by Omicron variant of Covid: poll

A majority of people see the Omicron variant of Covid-19 as worrying as it spreads very quickly, putting the elderly and people with underlying diseases at risk, according to the result of a survey by the National Institute of Development Administration, or Nida Poll.

The poll was conducted by telephone interviews with 1,320 people on March 7-9 to compile their opinions on the Omicron variant of Covid-19 which is spreading quickly in the country and elsewhere.

Asked whether they were worried by the current spread of Covid-19, 56.36% said “yes” – 34.54% fairly worried and 21.82% very worried, saying the Omicron variant put the elderly…
