I cannot believe I fell for this, but a scam apparently from Dubai has made it here. A young clean cut Arab guy came up to me while I was rushing to catch the last BTS. He said he just flew in from Dubai and asked to see the local currency. Somehow I was stupid enough to not shake him off like I would in nyc. He shows me a big fat pile of us bills and other currency in his wallet and said he wasn’t going to scam me and of course he scammed me. Next thing you know he’s holding my pile of bills and said I could hold his wallet which I refused and when I rushed to catch the train I was out 2000-3000 baht. Fortunately I only brought a limited amount out with me tonight. I live in NYC and can’t believe I was smooth talked.
