Man Punches Partially Paralyzed Elderly Dutch Man Near Pattaya



Pattaya —

In the Huay Yai sub-district, an anonymous stranger delivered a punch to the face of an elderly Dutch man who had paralysis on one side of his body.

The assault was reported to Huay Yai police at 8:30 PM on Wednesday, July 5th, by a good Samaritan. The police rushed to the scene at the Ban Thung Ka checkpoint to investigate.

Upon their arrival, the police found the foreign victim, Mr. Alphons Huber Meijers, of Dutch nationality, covered in blood. The 70-year-old man had suffered a broken nose and was rushed to a nearby hospital by local rescuers. It was reported that the foreign elderly man also had paralysis on one side of his body.

According to his interview, Mr. Alphons had a public argument with his unidentified landlord over a rent hike. He could not agree with the price and argued with the landlord about the price when suddenly a total stranger passed by and punched him in the face, and fled.

Huay Yai police were attempting to identify the attacker. He was condemned by those who witnessed the incident for attacking a defenseless elderly man.
