MAE HONG SON: A man was arrested in Mae Sariang district on Saturday as he went to pick up firearms parts which he had ordered online, according to the police yesterday.
Natthawut Rapeeboonnon, 34, was arrested while he was on his way to pick up his packages at a courier branch office in the district, said Pol Maj Gen Pichaya Boonkhajorn, commissioner of Mae Hong Son provincial police.
In the four packages addressed to him, authorities found rifle parts and ammo cartridges, which they seized as evidence, along with two mobile phones.
Three of the packages were sent by Chaiyong Alaiyon — an auto parts shop in Chiang Mai’s San Pa Tong district.
The police took Mr Natthawut to his house, also in Mae Sariang district, where they found weapons and cartridges.
