Malaysia PM to hash out border plan

The prime ministers of Malaysia and Thailand are expected to discuss cooperation on the promotion and integration of economic development, particularly in the five southernmost Thai provinces and four northern Malaysian states along or near the border.

Speaking ahead of the two-day official visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim starting Thursday, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister and acting government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said Mr Anwar and his wife will be the guests of the Thai government as part of an introductory tour to Asean countries.

During the visit, Mr Anwar will meet his Thai counterpart Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday.
