Mae Hong Son Loop By Car.

Question to anyone who has (or knows someone who has) taken a CAR along the Mae Hong Son Loop. (Preferably recently. This is not for me. Asking for someone else. Its their first time doing the loop).

Is it better to take the classic loop (via Doi Inthanon, then Mae Chaem to Mae Sariang)?

Or –

Take Doi Inthanon to Khun Yuam?

(I'm thinking classic is best for first time…but apparently people keep telling them to skip the route via Mae Sariang because too boring. I think its an integral part of the loop for first-timers, though)

Any other things you can add regarding cars on this route? (It's your general rental Honda Civic kind of vehicle).

Any recent problematic issues on the route at this current time?
