Long Term Healthcare for Parents

My mom has reached that age where due to financial limitations and soaring healthcare costs in the United States, a skilled nursing facility seems to be our last option. And the quality of the available facilities makes me feel ill. The idea of sending her overseas seemed insane to me when it was suggested, but the more I look into it, the more I think it may be the best option.

If anyone has any stories – good or bad – please share. I’m feeling desperate right now dealing with this and filled with despair that there wasn’t something I could’ve done years ago so we weren’t where we are now. Thank you.
