Lineman Mart sets record with 600,000+ sacred deliveries in Thailand

The announcement was made as part of Lineman’s yearend review of Lineman Mart, shedding light on the preferences and habits of Thais when it comes to praying for good fortune.

According to the report, a staggering 660,000 offerings for gods, goddesses and sacred entities were ordered and successfully delivered through Lineman Mart in 2023, reflecting a remarkable 63% surge from the previous year.

This figure aligns with Lineman’s previous survey that shed light on Thai people’s behavioural trends and superstitious beliefs.

The survey highlighted the “mutelu” trend, in which Thais worship supernatural entities for good luck and fortune. This trend also covers a spectrum of practices, including a strong belief in fortune-telling, engaging in online offerings and participation in religious ceremonies.

Notably, the orders of products for worship experienced a significant upswing during auspicious times or days, such as the Varalakshmi Vratam day, which fell on August 25, 2023. On this day, which is dedicated to Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity, worshippers are required to diligently prepare their offerings, thus contributing to a surge in orders.

These findings coincide with preparations being made by Buddhists in Bangkok, gearing up for their pilgrimage to nine temples to invoke prosperity and good health in the coming year.
