Life in EPL not so sweet for the Cherries

Watching a football manager trying to explain away a heavy defeat in post-match interviews is never a pleasant experience.

You know they can’t say what they really think and if they complain, it is usually interpreted as sour grapes.

However, after last Saturday’s 9-0 demolition by Liverpool at Anfield, it seems Bournemouth manager Scott Parker was a bit too frank in his comments.

He said the team was “ill-equipped at this level,” basically meaning they weren’t good enough and implying he wasn’t getting proper support by the club.

Parker’s words should be put in context. He understandably looked shell-shocked immediately after the final whistle and somehow had to collect his thoughts for the TV.
