Latest Foreign Office travel advice for Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore

Lockdown is slowly but surely reaching its end and Brits are looking forward to the possibility of travelling abroad for the summer, although holidays are currently illegal.

Sadly, restrictions are still very strict in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore and travel abroad is usually contingent on having an essential reason for travel and presenting a negative Covid test before flying.

We looked at the latest Foreign And Commonwealth Development Office (FDCO) advice for travel abroad to several countries in East Asia and this is what you need to know.

Thailand

As it stands, the FDCO advises against “all but essential travel” to areas within the provinces on the Malaysia-Thailand border.

These include Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and the Southern Songkhla province. The areas north of the A43 road between Hat Yai and Sakom are not included.
