Late rally keeps Angels’ dream of wresting top league crown alive

Bangkok United extended their unbeaten streak in Thai League 1 to nine games after salvaging a rallying 2-1 win at Chiang Rai United last night to keep their slim hopes of claiming this year’s title alive.

Felipe Amorim gave the hosts the lead at 20 minutes. The Angels equalised in the 67th minute when Everton Goncalves struck before the Brazilian netted the winner in injury time.

The Rabbits were soon reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when Shinnaphat Leeaoh was sent off by the match referee.

Meanwhile, coach Masatada Ishii said unbeaten leaders Buriram United are far from being a finished product.
