Koh Samui, one of Thailand’s most renowned islands, is often surrounded by high expectations due to its fame. However, my recent visit painted a different picture, one that diverges from the idyllic image often portrayed in travel brochures.
Beaches – A Mixed Bag: Koh Samui’s beaches, while plentiful, do not necessarily live up to the hype. Chaweng Beach, arguably the most popular, offers decent swimming opportunities but falls short in terms of beauty and tranquility. Its proximity to the bustling party area contributes to its crowded nature, detracting from the serene beach experience many seek. In comparison to other Thai islands, Samui’s beaches seem underwhelming, lacking the pristine and untouched allure found elsewhere.
