Ko Phangan Accommodation

My wife and I are traveling to Ko Phangan in August, and we’re not sure about where to stay. We’re in between Haad Yao and Thongsala, closer to the market, at some bungalows down there by the beach. We’re looking for a chill, relaxed atmosphere (we’re not in partying) by the beach, but also close to good food. That’s really all we want – a nice beach and nice food. Originally, we were thinking of a place down by Thongsala, but we’re not sure if up by Haad Yao would be better because of the quality of the beaches. It seems like Thongsala has the food and not as nice beaches, and Haad Yao has the beaches and not as many options for food, but we’re not sure. We suppose we’ll take trips around the island regardless of where we’re staying. Any thoughts?
