Ko Chang or Ko Phayam – family

Family of 5 (3 kids 3-13) traveling 3 weeks I’m the coast of Thailand next March. I’m just after some feedback from anyone who has stayed on either of these islands. We are after a beach shack style stay that is nice and simple to disconnect for a few nights while on our trip. Does anyone have a preference for one of these islands over the other?

I would also love to explore by boat more if the islands around the andaman sea area here. Any recommendations or suggestions for companies that would be good for families.
