Kishida calls on Thai business leaders to invest actively

Japan’s Prime Minister Kishida Fumio is visiting Thailand, where he called on the local business community to invest actively to achieve sustainable economic growth in the post-pandemic age.

Kishida held talks with representatives of the business community in the Thai capital Bangkok on Monday. He is visiting the country as part of his trip to Southeast Asia and Europe.

Kishida said the issues of inequality and global warming have been considered obstacles to economic growth. He said that in order to achieve a sustainable economy, it is necessary to concentrate private-sector investments in areas presenting social challenges and to pursue the potential of such areas for growth.
