King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke ascends the throne of Siam as Rama 1 in 1782, and establishes the Chakri dynasty. The date is celebrated as Chakri day in Thailand, he also founded the new capital of Bangkok and the Rattankosin Kingdom.
