Khao Kho park cliff closed over ‘stupid’ tourist stunt

Tourists parked their car on the edge of a cliff for a stunt photo park rangers have deemed “dangerous” enough to close the site.

An act called out by netizens as alternately “risky” or “stupid” prompted national park officials yesterday to close access to the Hua Sing Cliff inside the Khao Kho National Park, a popular natural attraction in Phetchabun province.

Fearing copycats and potentially fatal accidents, Prasan Eaidsang, chief of Khao Kho National Park, ordered barriers installed at the cliff’s entry point along with warning signs “Danger! Steep Cliff” and “Do not enter without official approval.”

Those who trespass beyond the barrier will be prosecuted, Prasan said.
