So I’ve been living in Phuket for about a year now. I live in Rawai. For context, I did the rookie mistake of trying to turn a freelancer into a girlfriend and, like many before me, got burned pretty badly (the girl was a scammer, had a boyfriend the whole time, etc).
I don’t really hang out in Patong, I just don’t like the vibe of the place. However, I’m a big muay thai enthusiast/practitioner and so I go to Bangla Stadium every other week or so. Long story short, I wanted to get a (regular) massage last week before watching a fight and went into a random massage parlor (on Nanai road). There were a few ladies outside, most of them middle age, unattractive, except for one young girl. The younger girl was the one who massaged me. Her English was decent, but not so good. I can speak a little thai so we were able to chat a little.
I came back to that same massage place today, and we talked some more. Here is what I found out about her: She is 20 years old, from Issan, and works every day of the week. I guess my question is this: How do I know whether this place is a “traditional” Thai massage place, or whether it’s a “naughty one” (happy endings and co.)? I have only been to one other massage parlor where I couldn’t tell for sure and the massage lady asked me at the end of the massage if I wanted her to massage my Johnson. I know the outfit tends to be a clue. She was wearing a traditional outfit today but I remember she was wearing a football jersey the first time I went there.
From my relatively short experience in Phuket, I’d tend to think that she is not “in the sex game” because 1) she didn’t ask me if I wanted some extra service 2) her English is very basic, 3) she seemed pleasantly surprised that I would leave a big tip at the end and 4) both times, I was the only person in the massage parlor. When I left, I saw a young couple come inside the place.
The main “red flags” are: 1) The massage parlor is located on Nanai Road in Patong (I’m no expert but it looks like there are a lot of bars, bar girls, and massage parlors on that street). 2) I think both times, the older ladies signaled to the younger girl to do the massage (For context, I’m in my early 30s, a professional boxer, tall and fit. Not to brag or anything but anyone who would rate me under a 7/10 would be harsh, not that it really matters).
More likely than not, I will go back to the place to see her every once in a while. I’m sure I’m not the first farang who has a crush on a massage girl. To conclude, I would like to ask: In my future conversations with her, how can I ascertain whether she is a “good” girl or not? What are some red flags I should look for?
