Is Pai affected by burning season as badly as Chiang Mai?

Hi, I’m travelling to Chiang Mai in mid/late February for 1 week (18th – 25th). I’ve already booked flights for the trip so can’t change this now.

I had never heard of burning season until recently and am really disappointed to read about how bad it can be.

I also want to visit Pai while I’m there so am deciding how to split my time between each place. Does Pai get affected as badly by the smoke? I can spend most of my time there if it will be more bearable..!
