Is it weird to ask a copy of ID from a maid?

I have been using a maid to clean my condo. I have booked her twice before from a service but she texted me directly asking me to book her directly (without the agency). I understand that she then will get 100% of the earnings and I am okay with that.

Now, if you book via the agency there is some sort of insurance that if something goes wrong, you can contact them. But since there isn’t an agency involved, is it weird to ask for a copy of het ID card? In case something goes missing or if she damages something?

She will be in my condo for about 2h unattended by me.
