It was another great night for Team Ireland at the Tokyo Olympics after Kellie Harrington secured our fourth medal of the Games.

The Dublin boxer is guaranteed at least a bronze medal after beating Algeria’s Imane Khelif.

The 31-year-old’s winning bout means that Ireland has secured two medals in the boxing ring so far following Aidan Walsh’s third-place finish in the men’s welterweight competition.

An elderly man died after a three-car crash that hospitalised five others including a child last night.

Gardai shut the M7 in Portlaoise shortly after 7pm after the collision.
