Indigenous Australians share tales of stars

To celebrate the world’s oldest living culture, the Australian embassy presents a daily screening of Star Dreaming: Aboriginal Stories In The Stars inside a dome at Bangkok Planetarium, throughout October.

The short film will take audiences on a cosmic journey as depicted by indigenous Australian elders, the world’s oldest astronomers.

For more than 80,000 years, Australia’s First Nations peoples have observed the sky and assigned meaning to astronomical phenomena, which informs their lore and social structures.

Star Dreaming is an epic adventure through the cosmos and the thousands of years of knowledge about the universe passed on among countless generations of indigenous Australians.
