At 3:51 PM, on December 29th, 2023, Pattaya City police officers received a report of a lost item from an Indian tourist after using a hail-riding service from Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya City.
The Indian victim who was publicly identified as Mr. Mayank Piyushbhai Patel, 35, reportedly said to the police that he forgot a shoulder bag inside the taxi when he used the service.
The police were able to contact the mobile hail-riding driver and successfully asked them to return the tourist’s belongings including a passport, a credit card, and 50,000 Rupees in cash, back to Mayank. Pol. Col. Navin Teerawit, the superintendent of Pattaya City police station, publicly stated that as per recent orders by the Royal Thai Police, the policy to stimulate economic and tourism values with the safety of the lives and property of Pattaya tourists is a priority responsibility.
