The Indian embassy is hosting “Indian MSME Coir Expo 2023” to promote products and business opportunities in Icon Siam until today.
Duraipandi Kuppuramu, chair of the Indian Coir Board, said India is the largest producer of coconut, and coir, or coconut fibre, is the byproduct of husks.
The eco-friendly material is turned into household equipment, textile and home decoration, he said.
Pakainay Leng-ee, assistant permanent secretary at the Commerce Ministry, said the expo aims to provide networking opportunities among Thai and Indian business operators.
