Bangkok’s return as a live music destination is underway with promoters announcing small- and large-scale concerts (Maho Rasop Festival, Justin Bieber included).
Now the same group that brought acts like Nine Inch Nails and The Killers to Bangkok, Viji Corp, announced this morning that Sigur Ros will bring its acclaimed Icelandic post-rock to the capital this year.
Active since 1994 in Reykjavik, the band is best known for its ethereal music and use of a bowed guitar. Frontman Jonsi Birgisson is recognized for his falsetto vocals.
The trio is currently on a world tour with a scheduled gig in Singapore on Aug. 17. So fans in Bangkok should expect a Thai show around that time.
The concert’s date, venue, and ticketing details will be announced at a later date on Viji Corp’s socials.
