Jonathan Haggerty is the new ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.
“The General” pulled off a huge upset in the ONE Fight Night 9 main event at the weekend, knocking out long-time divisional king Nong-O Hama at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.
The match was dusted and done inside the opening round, as a rampant Haggerty dropped the Thai legend three times with power punches to score the KO win.
In his post-fight interview, the new ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion reflected on the enormity of dethroning Nong-O, who had held the strap since 2019.
