I want to hear positive stories about running a business in Thailand

I am starting a business here in Bangkok, Thailand. I am in expert in my field, I am well connected and networked. The business I am in is the fitness and martial arts industry.

But man, I am wavering between being extremely confident that my business will do well (because of my experience, connections and knowledge) and being worried that Thai immigration and beaucracy is going to crush all the joy out of what I plan on doing.

I have put a lot of thought, over many years about what I want to do. This is a decision I am making after a decade of planning and saving money. This is not a spur of the moment decision, I didn’t visit Thailand last year and thought “Hey I like this place, I am going to live here”

Can I please hear some positive business stories, and I know they are out there. One example I can think of is sunrise tacos, that guy’s doing very well. Also some Muay Thai/Martial Arts gym owners have done very well.

I would like to hear more.

EDIT – I am American and will be transitioning the company to a Treaty of Amity company in 2024, my Thai partner who’s been a friend of over 20 years is understanding and will help me in the process.
