According to Reddit (so yeah), local Thais don’t like Chinese people.
I’m trying to understand a bit more if this is real and if this sentiment is widespread.
As a Canadian-born Chinese, I recently visited Thailand about 3 months ago and experienced no issues with Thai people. Super friendly and kind. Was this because I spoke English? Or were they simply keeping their true feelings quiet.
Does this hate extend to the entire race, or simply tourists from mainland China?
I’m looking to revisit for a longer period of 3-6 months so some background information on the tensions (if any) would be helpful.
