Netflix, the world’s leading streaming entertainment service, has published the study “Inclusion in Netflix Original U.S. Scripted Series & Films” to emphasise the importance of telling stories that can touch anyone and opening the doors for creators regardless of gender, race, or background to tell stories from their own perspectives.
The study disclosed that in the US, 52% of leading roles in films and series from Netflix are portrayed by women. This ratio of women in leading roles exceeded those of top-grossing films during the study period.
