Is it common to meet a rental agent directly in the condo and paying him on the spot to “lock” the room? I found this condo I like and found an agent (urban8 property) online willing to rent it out to me. The price was ok, but i felt uncomfortable paying a stranger a full month of rent just because he showed me the room. (I would only receive the keys later on moving in date after paying deposit and signing contract) I asked about his office and he just answered it is on Sukhumvit 71, without handing a business card or exact address. I suggested to meet again in his office but he seemed unwilling to do so… Is something off here? Or is this just the way people rent in Bangkok?
How common/reliable is renting from an “agency” without office?
